Tack Shops

Tack Shops!

I've had a lot of enquiries about tack shops in or about Cardiff so thought I'd post the directions on the website for everyone.

Cardiff SportsGear

Whitchurch Road

Within walking distance.  Head up Cathays Terrace away from town, keep going straight, leave the Heath pub to your right and Maindy barracks to the left.  Carry on down the road towards the Gabalfa Interchange and its on your left just before the right turning to the All Nations Centre and before the pedestrian crossing

John Ayres

Rumney, Cardiff (would have to drive/bus – I believe its on a bus route)

Quite a small tack shop but an extensive range – they make Champion Hats. Head out of Cardiff down Newport Road, go through the retail section  (Mothercare World, Allied Carpets, Carpet Right, Focus etc etc) keep going straight over the two roundabouts up a very steep hill. Not far past the speed camera on the hill there's a set of traffic lights, turn right. Follow the road to the end (loads of speed ramps!) turn left at the T junction and John Ayres is on your right. There's a parking bay right in front of it.

Pritchard’s

Llantrisant (about 12 miles away)

Easiest way to get there is down the motorway. Leave the M4 (westbound) at J34
Follow signs to Llantrisant, think you'll go straight over a couple of roundabouts (follow the A4119), keep going straight and you'll pass Tesco on your left.
At the traffic lights turn right onto the B4595 and follow the road up the hill.

There's a very sharp left hand turn into Llantrisant which isn't signposted from this direction (although if you overshoot and have to come back it is!)- You’ll practically turn up your exhaust pipe! Very narrow winding road through houses, there's a small car park on your right (actually opens onto the road) after a few hundred yards (may be full - its tiny!) Pritchard’s is on the left set back from the road just past the car park. It is possible to park in the street. The road its on is called Newbridge Road.
