Hello and Welcome!

This small and independent club aims to provide you guys with an opportunity to indulge in some horsy fun! Wednesday afternoons shall be dedicated to spending quality time with a horse! 

We have different ride groups – all dependent upon your riding ability.  Unfortunately we are unable to offer beginner rides this year, although if you are interested please speak to one of the committee members who will be able to put you in touch with a local riding school.

 The Advanced Rides are for those riding at or above Pony Club B level – i.e. must be proficient in lateral work and secure and confident jumping (unfortunately jumping lessons are relatively few and far between!).  For those riding in the advanced rides there is the opportunity to try out for the teams.  We have two teams entered into the BUSA leagues this year – eight places for guys to try out for, so please do so!  Last year an individual from the A team qualified for the National finals and the B team just missed qualifying for the Regionals by 1 point – hopefully this year we can better this great achievement! 

The advanced rides take place on Wednesday afternoons at Argae House Stables, a team chasing yard just outside Cardiff.  We will be using the email system to sign up for rides.  To sign up, email lydiagreenman@tiscali.co.uk, the advanced ride co-ordinator, with your name, phone number, time and date you would like to ride, and whether you are able to drive to the venue.  Those of you who are able to drive are much appreciated (and needed!!!), and you are entitled to claim the petrol money back at the end of each term. The rides cost £15 for a 1hr group lesson (maximum of 6 in a lesson).

The Intermediate rides will be taking place on Wednesday afternoons (3pm)  at Cardiff Riding School which is just a short walk from the centre of Cardiff – not far from Talybont/Tesco’s in Western Avenue.  Rachel and Rhiannon have bravely volunteered to take on the task of organising these rides so please email the club account (horsing_around_at_cardiff_uni@hotmail.com with intermediate ride and the date in the title) to sign up.  The intermediate lessons are £10 for an hour group.
